Last night, Camryn and Hayden were setup in Teddy’s room and Sam and I were across the hall in Audrey’s room. Unfortunately, Hayden was a bit restless and shortly after midnight I switched rooms and slept with Camryn. That way if Hayden was restless, I could take care of things without it waking Camryn. Always a good thought, but wow, sleeping with your child does not make for a restful night as the parent!
And, Camryn woke up around 6:30 so we ventured downstairs around 7.

Fun filled morning – the girls went swimming with Jena, then we had a nice breakfast of pancakes and fresh fruit!
While I was getting all our stuff packed back into the car, the girls played on the grand piano.
Camryn and Jesse played with the water in one of the outside fountains. But Hayden who is still scared if his pinches elected to stay indoors.
When we started driving this morning there were 10317 miles on the car. We went a bit backwards when we headed slightly north into Malibu. But Jena really wanted to take us there. The girls got a few new toys and cupcake necklaces then played in (another) park. It would have been fun to see Jesse playing at the park with the girls, but he had fallen asleep on the drive over. We also managed to eat a quick lunch at the park before leaving.
Once on the road, we got down to La Jolla fairly quickly – only one potty/gas stop was needed. We also chose to take HWY 73 (toll road) because it saved us time and we thought we had to get down here for a 4 o’clock entry into Marcia & Martin’s house (our residence for the next few days). Well, it turns out that my aunt and uncle got their times crossed and we ended up with over an hour to spare before my aunt returned home… so the kids got to have a late afternoon snack at Starbucks!
You know what Sam is most tired of on this trip? Unloading the trunk!! He was a great sport unloading everything again today and we setup “camp” in the guest room and the boys’ room. Then it was dinner time – thanks to Trader Joe’s great selection of ready-to-serve dishes… perfect for today, I don’t think any of us had the energy to go out for dinner.
The girls are now sound asleep and ready to tackle tomorrow (we’re going to Legoland – I’ll try to post something here during the day!)
